The planar optical waveguide (PLC) splitter is an optical power management device made by using quartz substrate optical waveguide technology, which has the characteristics of small volume, high reliability, wide operating wavelength range and good uniformity of splitting. Widely used in PON networks to complete the splitting of optical signals. ARTIC FIBER provides 1xN and 2xN full range of PLC splitter products, and customizes specific applications for customers. All products are in compliance with GR-1209-CORE-2001 and GR-1221-CORE-1999 standards.

Installation Notes

Q: Can this splitter work with APC connectors?
A: No, SC/UPC is incompatible with SC/APC due to polish angle differences. Use a hybrid coupler if needed.
Q: Is it bidirectional?
A: Yes, but upstream signals (ONT→OLT) will experience additional loss due to splitter attenuation.
Q: Can I cascade two 1x32 splitters for 1x64 splitting?
A: Technically yes, but total loss will exceed 35dB, limiting practical reach. Use a 1x64 PLC splitter instead.
