Keyed Characteristics
✔ Central Strength Member (CSM): Made of steel or Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) to provide tensile strength and prevent the cable core from shrinking;
✔ Loose Tube: Optical fibers sit inside high-modulus plastic (PBT) tubes filled with water-blocking gel to protect against moisture;
✔ Armor & Waterproofing: Often includes a corrugated steel tape armor and water-blocking materials to make the cable rodent-proof and watertight;
✔ Outer Sheath: Typically made of black Polyethylene (PE), which is resistant to ultraviolet (UV) radiation;
Integrated Messenger: A galvanized steel wire strand is jacketed in the "figure 8" loop, allowing the cable to bear its own weight when strung between poles.
Application
✔ Aerial Installation: Ideal for direct suspension from poles without needing a separate pulling line, perfect for long-distance and metropolitan networks;
✔ Duct Installation: Can also be pulled through underground ducts when necessary;
✔ Durability Needs: Suitable for areas requiring moisture-proofing and protection against rodents.
The GYFC8Y is a self-supporting "figure 8" outdoor fiber optic cable. Its integrated messenger wire allows for direct aerial installation between poles without needing a separate pulling line, making it a cost-effective solution for long-distance and metropolitan networks.
